Title: Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of Some New N-Methylpiperazinylthiadiazoles and Their Azetidinones Authors: Jaish, L; Srivastava, S K Abstract: A series of 2-arylidenimino-5-( N⁴-methyl-N^l-piperazinylmethyl)-1 ,3,4-thiadiazole,4, have been synthesized via condensation of 2-amino -5-(N⁴-methyl-N¹-piperazinylmethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole with various carbonyl compounds. Cycloaddition of chloroacetyl chlorride to 4 gives 1-[5'-(N⁴- methyl-N¹-piperazinylmethyl)-1', 3', 4'-thiadiazole-2'-yl]-4-substituted-3-chloro-2-azetidinones, 5.
